Basic Tips For Getting Free Stuff

datePosted on 22:16, January 28th, 2010 by Patrick Keith

It’s amazing how many times you get asked the identical questions from surfers who are introduced to freebies for the 1st time. And so often the questions are the same repeated over and over. But that’s fine, as people become accustomed to receiving free stuff, it becomes apparent that it is all completely legit. Today, I’ve listed a few often asked questions and answers along with some tips to get started with your freebies hunting.

1) Nothing in life is free. How can this product be free?
Businesses large and small spend billions of dollars every year on advertising. Instead of blowing a 6 month promotional budget on TV, newspaper, or mail inserts, these companies spend a smaller proportion of their budget on giving away samples so you can try their products right in your own home.

2) Why does it take so long for my free stuff to arrive?
Most businesses want you to receive their samples because research shows it is the most cost effective way to promote. However since they are satisfying large volumes of requests, it can typically take 4-12 weeks to receive your samples. Whilst there is a high success rate of samples received, the initial waiting period can be discouraging for some. It is important to be patient. Once you actually start freebie hunting on a consistent and regular basis, after the initial wait you will receive free samples regularly.

3) I see other sites offering free stuff like games consoles, designer jeans, and iPods. Are those offers legit?
The old saying “it’s too good to be true” is a good rule of thumb to go by. Most of these freebies will involve you to sign up for sponsor offers or buy something to get your freebie. Unlike FreeStuff4Free.com, many sites are out for a quick dollar and list many unrealistic prizes to get your attention through Google advertising. The best thing to do is use common sense and review the terms of the offer before participating.

4) Will I get an increase in junk email by signing up?
Most reputable companies will not sell or rent your information. An easy way to check is to read the terms and conditions or privacy statement. However, these companies may want to use your email to keep in touch with you and inform you of new products they launch. And unfortunately in all walks of life, there are always a few bad characters that ruin it for the rest of us. The easiest thing to prevent unwanted junk email in your personal address is to make a free email account at a provider like Gmail which already has strong anti-spam measures within the service and use that email address to sign up for free stuff.

Happy freebie hunting.

House Plants Are Decorative And Functional

datePosted on 21:32, January 21st, 2010 by Patrick Keith

Not only do plants add life and character to your home, but they also keep the air fresh. You can choose plants that echo the design of your home. If you have a contemporary look or even a modern look then pick plants that go along with your style whether it’s sleek and slender or ferns to go with your Victorian style antique furnished home. But bear in mind it’s not only the plants you select but also their containers which make them fit in with the room.

Always remember when you’re selecting plants to consider the height. The plants should contribute to the room instead of overpowering the décor. If the plants are too tall they can detract from the décor. Also make sure to get different heights of plants for a balanced and stunning look.

Furthermore pick plants that have comparable watering and sunlight requirements. It can be demanding if you have plants in the same room that have opposing requirements because potentially at least one is going to suffer. You’re most likely going to forget about watering or caring for certain plants and they will die. So make it easy on yourself and put plants with similar needs into the same room.

Adding plants can add new dimensions to a room and make a focal point. Tall plants can become focal points that reduce the starkness of any area like kitchens, foyers, or even hallways. Not only can they be focal points but they can also conceal problem areas. You can even change the views from your house by hanging a plant in the corner of the window, or turn a radiator into a plant stand.

Plants are not only appealing, but they’re also functional. By planting herbs in the kitchen they contribute color and life to the kitchen and they are also functional since they supply you fresh herbs for cooking and the fragrances without the Glade air freshener. Also choose plants with bright colored containers and foliage for a spectacular effect in dull or neutral-toned décor.

Colorful plants in various sizes and shapes can spruce up any room. Nothing looks more lifeless and boring than a room with no plants. Plants add stimulation and life to any room in the house. They are both functional and decorative. They can hide problem areas and also provide fragrances which keep the house smelling fresh and also emit CO2 which helps the interior air of the home stay clean. Just keep in mind plants should match the style of your home and they should range in size and shape in order to add more dimension and serve as a focal point by enhancing the room. Inside plants are delightful and they serve many purposes, which helps your home that much more appealing.

Leverage your influence

datePosted on 14:36, December 8th, 2008 by Keith Stieneke

Before the year is over I want to finish presenting the steps given by Rajesh Setty in his book Beyond Code – Learn How to Distinguish Yourself in 9 Simple Steps.  I have already presented the first five steps. Those steps are referred to by Rajesh as the part of the inner game. It is now time to reveal the four remaining steps, those that are part of the outer game.

The first of those is leverage and here is what Rajesh says about leverage:

Leverage obtains its importance from the fact that we achieve different results because each of us invest our time and energy differently. We are reminded that we are not the sole handler of a problem but have many resources that we can leverage to help us, the most important of these being other people.

When I read what Rajesh says about leverage I am reminded of what Napoleon Hill said in his book Think and Grow Rich about people who formed a mastermind group. He claimed on his deathbed that the mastermind principle was the most important of all the success principles he identified. A mastermind group is a support team that meets on a regular basis to share advice, feedback, and ideas among its members. Together we know more and can focus more energy than any one of us can alone. The mastermind group can function as your personal board of directors. For more information about the MasterMind Principle go to http://www.getyourassetsingear.com/mastermind.htm

Doing Your Personal Best

datePosted on 13:46, August 24th, 2008 by Keith Stieneke

I registered this domain name over two years ago but never made use of it until now. The reason for this is that I always wanted Your Personal Best to become one of the best personal development blogs on the Internet; however, I wasn’t yet ready to forge ahead with developing this domain.

What is Your Personal Best about? It is simply about providing information that can help you to become the best that you can be. It covers such topics as leadership, success principles, time management, relationships, wellness, financial management and much more.

This domain is the continuation of what I originally started at http://your-personal-best.blogspot.com and I hope to even improve the quality of information provided by eventually bringing aboard other people to help contribute relevant posts to this site.
